Autumn Art Classes in the Studio with Annabel
Good Morning Everyone.
I hope you had an enjoyable summer. Its time to check out your timetable for the coming months. Art Mornings are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 9.30 - 12 am (note the new Wednesday mornings if that's more convenient for you)
They work as a drop in, you don't have to stick to a particular day, but it is good to know if people plan to turn up for the first time.
Wednesday Evening Life Drawing starts again next week on the 7th September at 6.30 - 8.30 pm.

One Day Workshop on Saturday with Orwell Art Club; Paint/Colour/Freedom... with acrylics
Nine members of the art club arrived in the studio for their all day workshop, bright, early and eager.
The workshop was from 10 till 4, time enough to really get into it.
They worked hard, were open to exploration and I hope were very happy with their results.
See for yourself from the few photos of their paintings below.

A quick update for you.

A demonstration/interactive performance
on Saturday 9th July at 3.30pm.
Underneath the skin, an exploration into the
identity of Leo Collins
by
Annabel Mednick
Leo is 23,he has cerebral palsy and he tends to move a lot which can be challenging for the artist.
The
call and response between the artist and the sitter is an exciting,
fluid experience and one that Leo and I would like to share with others.
- Please let me know if you would like to come.
on another note....
My
warmest congratulations and best wishes to two of my young and talented
students, Elli and Albert who go off to University in September to
start their life in Art!
And a quick reminder of my Summer Classes until August.
Tuesday and Thursday Art Mornings 9.30 - 12.00Wednesday Evening Life Class 6.30 - 8.30 pm
I am planning to add a Wednesday morning and Tuesday evening sessions from September if I have enough people so please contact me if you think this might interest you.

A good question posed to me last night!
"Dear Annabel, Is the evening class Wednesday A Life Drawing Class or a Figure Drawing Class?"
So that got me thinking...
Initially I replied.
"I call it life drawing because we draw / work from a model (usually wearing vest and pants) and cus I guess I have always referred to this as life drawing....But not sure I know the difference. Hope that answers your question."
But on reflection this morning added
" Actually a good question, its got me thinking...I think I call it life class not just because we work from a live person but we are also looking at essence of the being as a way to explore and develop, not just the form and shape of the figure.
so using the model as a source, this gives the artist room to interpret and try to get beyond the simply what does the person look like...
or something on those lines..."
